VFW Post 2121 Month Meeting is tomorrow night. Be there if you can! Time is 6:30 PM.
Friday nights meal is Swedish Meat Balls and noodles, mixed vegetables and desert. As always $9.00 and if you tip the cook (VFW or Auxiliary) they will continue to give us excellent Friday night meals.
As this is the first week as Commander may I introduce myself:
VFW member for 18 years
VFW Post Quartermaster for 15 years
81 years old
Married for 56 years with my bride Linda. 4 children 9 grandchildren.
US Navy 1963-1967, Vietnam Veteran (fully disabled)
1970 Graduate with a BS from Wayne State College Wayne, Nebraska (Major Marketing and Management)
Business Accounting 40 years, 17 years with Monfort of Colorado
My Objective: Create a positive welcoming atmosphere for veterans.
Upcoming events:
December 13th, Kids Christmas Party 1-3PM
December 14th, CAVA food packages will be delivered to the Greeley Airport via airplanes to fill Christmas food boxes. 8-10AM est.
December 20th, Food boxes will be packaged for Needy VFW Families at the Greeley VFW. 10am
December 21st, VFW Breakfast and Family Food Boxes will be picked up at the Greeley VFW Breakfast 8-11am
Again....all these activities require VFW and Auxiliary help, contact me is you can help or just show up.
Project coming up to accept at this meeting:
An older gentleman just outside of Greeley has found it hard to water his small herd of animals. He is attempting to complete this task by 5 gallon buckets and especially it is hard during the winter. We do not have all the details yet but have three local merchants and businesses who will help financially to create a watering system for the older gentleman if we accept this management task. Give it some thought! We will vote on the Project at this meeting!
A specific Volunteer needed: Our VFW Roof sign is ready to put back on the roof. The crane company is putting it back on the roof for nothing when we are ready. Our problem is we do not have a electrician who is willing to crawl up on the roof to do the electrical hook-up. If you can do this or know someone who will volunteer to preform this volunteer task let me know.
